Climate change could have devastating effects on the well-being of people already living on the edge of poverty - with limited financial and technical capacity, yet dependent on climate sensitive sectors for their life and livelihoods, communities must rely on their own ability to adapt and survive in constantly changing conditions. SGP interventions to address problems related to climate change should in general be designed to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change by undertaking activities aimed at reducing emissions of Green House Gases (GHGs), removing barriers to energy efficiency and energy conservation, and or promoting alternative renewable sources of energy.
